As part of the EU-funded GOV4ALL initiative across the Mediterranean, Thyrea Living Lab unites local communities to pioneer regenerative soil management and bioeconomy innovation.
Driven by our two Thyrea hubs, Thyrea Gaia and Thyrea Bios, we deliver hands-on learning, scientific evidence, viable entrepreneurship and practical networking to build a thriving future for North Kynouria.
GOV4ALL brings together actors of change in five territories across the Mediterranean. Five Living Labs bring stakeholders together in communities across France, Greece and Spain to co-create regenerative soil management solutions and innovative business models to safeguard agriculture and foster rural development.
Rooted in North Kynouria
North Kynouria (historically Thyreatis) spans 577 km² in Arcadia, stretching from the Argolic Gulf to Northern Laconia. With 86% of its landscape covered in forests and grasslands, agriculture is centered around traditional olive groves, vineyards, and livestock.
Water scarcity, extreme weather, and persistent pest pressures are compounding land degradation. Decades of leaving orchard soils bare have accelerated severe erosion, compromising soil structure, biodiversity, and long-term agricultural resilience.
Thyrea Living Lab brings together farmers, researchers, entrepreneurs, local authorities, NGOs, and the community to co-create and validate practical solutions for soil health and the bioeconomy. We test and demonstrate regenerative farming practices and bio-based solutions, collecting the evidence needed to prove their environmental and socio-economic impact.
Through active knowledge sharing and community engagement, we turn these insights into stronger local value chains and healthier soils for North Kynouria.

GOV4ALL brings together farmers, researchers, NGOs, policymakers and communities through five Living Labs across France, Greece and Spain. Together, they co-create, test and validate regenerative soil management solutions, while developing Rural Regeneration Hubs that provide locally tailored services, business models and knowledge exchange to support healthier soils and more resilient rural communities.
